Dick Olsher of The Absolute Sound wrote:

"...the Kronzilla SX stereo amp ($23,000) was spotted doing its thing in the Brodmann Acoustics room. Any close encounter with KR Audio’s Kronzilla is worth writing home about, that KR 1610 power triode “on steroids” being quite a sight. The other manufacturer introduced noteworthy SET amplifiers: The Voxativ 845 monoblock amplifier ($17,500) is a flagship product rated at 18 watts into 4, 8, and 16-ohm loads..."

Stereophile RMAF Showreport for the Voxativ room

Voxativ at the Rocky Mountain Audio FestJason Victor Serinus of Stereophile wrote:

"Voxativ may be one of the only companies in the high-end whose equipment list is designed as a flow chart. The visual presentation seems entirely apt, given how beautifully music flowed through the eye-catching and soul-pleasing Voxativ 9.87 system loudspeakers with its AC-4d wideband driver and bass extension ($34,900/pair).

This truly superior system excelled in communicating the life and beating heart behind the notes. Listening to Agnes Obel via Tidal, I heard beautiful sonorities distinguished by open highs, a superb midrange, and deep bass. Nor did the voice of Cassandra Wilson on "Strange Fruit" possess anything other than a special and wondrous beauty. Switching to analog, a fabulous recording of the Tsuyoshi Yamamoto Trio's Live at the Misty excelled in its percussive impact. I wouldn't call this system totally neutral—it had a special shine to it, as would a jewel that had been buffed and polished to perfection—but it was supremely musical and drop-dead seductive.

Doing the rest of the honors: the world premieres of Voxativ's 845 tube monoblocks ($17,500/pair) and PA-01 preamp with MC phono ($9900); totaldac's D1 music server ($5000) and D1 tube DAC ($10,000); and, for the analog front end, the dps-2 turntable ($4400) with ViV Lab Rigid Float 7/CB tonearm ($6400) and Shun Mook Reference 2 cartridge ($6000)."

New product release: Scansonic's new flagship speakers - the MB-6

Scansonic MB-6

The MB-6 is the Scansonic flagship speaker. The design is centered around the ultra light moving mass sealed ribbon tweeter, that has unique speed, resolution and dynamic transient capability. This makes for a very transparent and highly detailed reproduction of the finest details in the program material. The tweeter is crossed over to dynamic driver array at 3 KHz.

The MB-6 boasts a powerful lineup of 6, 4,5” carbon coned dynamic drivers, arranged in a power sharing line array. The inner pair of the driver covers the midrange up to where the tweeter takes over and as you move out from the center the driver cowers more and more of the lower registries. In the deepest bass the line array boast a total membrane area larger than a 12” driver, but still with the speed and agility of the smaller drivers. This makes the MB-6 have outstanding capabilities even in the deepest bass. The MB-6 is an incredible music performer with an impact an authority the will leave you breathless. Delivery is expected November 15th.

Langerton's Configuration 217 speakers mentioned in the latest The Absolute Sound

Langerton Configuration 217

The Absolute Sound Oct.2015, Robert E. Greene wrote (THE Show Newport 2015): "While I was working on speakers at moderate prices ($20k), or what passes for moderate today, I looked into a few of the pricier items just out of interest. I was struck by the piano sound from the Langerton Configuration 217. This speaker allows adjustment of the positional relationship between the mid/bass driver and the tweeter to get phase/time exactly right for a given listening position. Whatever for this reason or not, this speaker sounded remarkably like a real piano: at a price of - around $31k for a pair..."

Mr. Greene obviously got the price wrong - $15,450 is not for one speaker only, but for the pair C217!!  CLICK HERE for more info.

New review: ViV Lab Rigid Float tonearm wins a 5 Star Award on The Ear

ViV Lab Ridid Float Tonearm

We're glad to announce another award for the ViV Lab Rigid Float tonearm - the 5 Star Award of The Ear magazine.

Jason Kennedy concluded:
"...the Rigid Float is a rather unconventional arm and one that ignores traditional approaches to cartridge alignment, but like another idiosyncratic design, the Well Tempered, it produces superb results. It’s one of those analogue audio products that makes you realise that the conventions followed by the majority are not necessarily the only options. There is clearly room for thinking outside the box and the Viv Labs engineers are to be applauded for their inventiveness..."
