New review and award: KR Audio P130 tube preamp

KR Audio P130 tube preamp

KR Audio's P130 was reviewed on The StereoTimes and received a Most Wanted Component 2015 Award.

Greg Simmons concluded:
"...I hope it’s apparent that I was really impressed with the KR Audio P-130 preamplifier. It’s simple to set up, simple to use, and it’s built to a very high quality standard. It was an excellent match for my amplifier and – while it emphasized slightly different qualities than my own preamp - its overall sound was hard to challenge. It’s not inexpensive, but by today’s standards it does represent a decent value. Assuming the internal workings are as robust as the exterior casework, this could be a great foundation piece for any system for a very long time. The KR-Audio P-130 preamp is a really, really good piece of equipment. Highly recommended." CLICK HERE to check out the entire review

StereoTimes' Most Wanted Component Award 2015 - KR Audio P130 tube pre amplifier

StereoTimes Most Wanted Component 2015 Award

Award No.3 goes to...

Greg Simmons, The StereoTimes, wrote:
"...KR Audio might be best known for the proprietary tubes the size of one-liter pop bottles that they use to get real world power out of single-ended triode amps, but their lineup is more diverse that that. Their P-130 pre-amplifier might be the sleeper in their lineup. A densely compact chuck of equipment carved from solid aluminum case with two big tubes on top, single-ended (balanced ins and outs optional), with a built in moving coil phono-stage in the number 1 input. Everything about this pre feels high quality. Best of all, it sounds high-quality too, with excellent bass extension, a large, deep soundstage, excellent clarity, and that elusive musical boogie factor. A terrific piece that’s been a joy to listen to with anything I’ve played through it..."

Voxativ 9.87 System Loudspeakers

Clement Perry of The StereoTimes wrote:

"...High-end Electronic's Alfred Kainz had another excellent sounding high-end rig this year. Sweet and delicate with full and quick-footed bass had me captivated for nearly an hour. Ultimately, I spent more time than I wanted in this suite compliments of some pretty impressive components that included the Voxativ 9.87 speaker system ($35k), replete with the AC-4d wideband driver and bass extender (not subwoofer!) and powered by the Voxativ 845 mono amp ($17k) and PA-01 tubed pre/phonostage ($9,900). Analogue source was DPS-2 turntable ($4,400) using the classy ViV Lab Rigid Float arm ($6,400) using a Shun Mook Reference 2 cartridge ($6,000). Digital play came by way of the marvelous sounding TotalDAC D1 Music Server ($5k) and D1 tube DAC ($10k). I was quite intrigued by the Pranawire Linebacker SE AC conditioner ($3000) and High Fidelity CT-1 AC cables. Voxativ interconnects and speaker cables were used throughout ($1,500 and $2,000 respectively)."

NEW ARRIVAL: Latest evolution of Knut Cornils' soulshine - VALVET soulshine "Pure"

VALVET soulshine pure

Similar to the original soulshine with 5 line inputs and now 3 outputs (massive silver connectors) using ECC82 and ECC99 tubes with only one Mundorf Silver/Gold/Oil capacitor per channel. The signal path is even shorter now and a brand new volume control is incorporated. A 48-step ladder switch with remote control as a standard - absolutely State-Of-The-Art!  We think the soulshine "Pure" is VALVET's best sounding pre-amp yet! Congratulations to Germany - well done Knut!
