With the N° ONE Mk.II speakers Ichos strives to create the optimum in passive loudspeakers, handcrafted down to the smallest detail.
As in the case of all of Ichos sound converters, the wideband drivers are the product of a special process. Our opinion is that crossovers work as a 'brake' mechanism, and we don’t want to integrate such 'brakes' into our speakers. Just the opposite - the wideband driver is directly connected to the output of the amplifier and, thanks to the special treatment, is able to guarantee an optimal emittance without any distortion up to approximately 6.5 kHz. This way, key factors such as timing, dynamic behavior and coherence of music reproduction are preserved. The low range is converted through a backloads horns facing downward. This results in an extraordinarily compact construction and an optimal connection of the bass to the listening environment. Tweeters are connected through special capacitors and are dipoles. The emission characteristics of the dipole reduce the influence of the room acoustics on the sound. Thanks to this system, we have a 1 1/2 way concept. The elliptical body with integrated horn is made of solid, powder-coated aluminum. Because of the high sensitivity, the N° ONE MK.II is the ideal partner for small, single-ended amplifiers. All components, as well as the inner cabling utilized are top-class and hand-selected.
